Product Design

The SMAK-Stiks patent pending design was driven by the application and attributes of a real stick. Consequently, the sticks are thin and rigid, but at the same time safe to use.

The padded area of the SMAK-Stiks is approximately 1.4 inches in width. The length of the padded area varies depending on the overall length of the SMAK-Stik. Additional padding is added to the tip of the striking area. This design feature allows the SMAK-Stiks to be used safely in a stabbing or thrusting motion without sacrificing the “sweet spot” of the sticks where most of the contact during strikes will occur.

The padded area is also covered with a heavy duty ballistic nylon shell. Ballistic nylon is one of the most durable fabrics out on the market. It is up to 4 times more durable than the 200 denier pack cloth that is used by some of our competitors. Additionally, ballistic nylon is water repellent. This allows any foreign material such as sweat or dirt to be easily wiped off.

The handle is 1 inch in width and 8 inches in length. The extra length in our handles makes the SMAK-Stiks a more conducive training tool when practicing disarms, joint manipulation, and locks. Additionally, our long handle provides more room to adjust your grip depending on the style you practice.

The handle is also equipped with a soft foam padded punyo / end cap. This unique design feature allows students to practice strikes using the base of the stick.

The most unique and beneficial feature of the SMAK-Stiks is its inner core. The inner core is made up of various high impact nylons and foams. It is these quality materials and patent pending construction that allow SMAK-Stiks to function more like a real stick. Unlike other padded training sticks, SMAK-Stiks can be used beyond just sparring. By maintaining many of the attributes of a real stick, SMAK-Stiks can be effectively used in flow drills, take downs, stick grappling, etc…

Q-Series - No Longer Available
X-Series
K-Series- No Longer Available

Q-Series:
The Q-Series is conducive when training to improve precision, reflexive response, speed, multiple strikes, quick kills, etc…It’s lighter and more maneuverable than the X-Series. The Q-Series is very popular with those who treat the stick as if it were a blade.

X-Series:
The X-Series was designed for “Heavy Duty” training. In addition to striking, the X-Series can be used for close range combat. The solid core makes it an effective training tool for practicing take downs, chokes, grappling techniques, disarms, etc… Although the X-Series is much safer than using a real stick, we highly recommend the use of head and hand protection when training with the X-Series.

K-Series:
The K-Series are for the younger martial artists. The K-Series will have a more flexible and more padded striking area. The handle is shorter to accommodate smaller hands. The K-Series will be available in a shorter length and overall will be lighter and much more maneuverable.
